Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes, 25, is going to be a dad!
The Kansas City Chiefs player and his fiancée Brittany Matthews, 25, made the big announcement on Instagram. She posted a pic of the couple holding an ultrasound, along with the message, “Mom & Dad, taking a small detour to the wedding.”
Earlier this month, Mahomes popped the question to Matthews at the Super Bowl ring ceremony, which was held at Arrowhead Stadium.
After he accepted his ring, Mahomes got down on one knee with a massive diamond ring at the club-level suites, which was all decked out with flowers and marquee letters that read, “Will you marry me.”
Matthews shared photos from the proposal, writing on Instagram, “On a day that was meant to celebrate you, you turned it into celebrating us. It's always us, it's always you and me. The words you looked into my eyes and said to me at this moment, will NEVER leave my mind! You made this day perfect, you took my entire breath away and I could not have imagined anything better. I love you, forever and always! Cheers to spending our lifetime together and an inseparable bond🎉🥂.”
Mahomes took to his Instagram to show off his fiancée's huge diamond ring.
The engagement came just two months after he signed a $503 million contract with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Patrick and Brittany met nearly 10 years ago while attending Whitehouse High School in Texas.
