Divorce War Amps Up as Brad Pitt Responds to Angelina Jolie’s Latest Claims
Brad Pitt isn't backing down in his divorce war with Angelina Jolie!
Yesterday, “Extra” obtained Los Angeles Superior Court docs filed by Angelina that claimed Brad had failed to make “meaningful” child support payments since their breakup in September 2016.
Today, “Extra” obtained Brad's response. Pitt's lawyers claim he loaned Angelina $8 million for the house she bought, plus gave her another $1.3 million for expenses for her and the kids.
Brad's attorneys say the actress' request for a status conference on child support is unneeded because they already have one set up for August 21. They say the effort to schedule a hearing is "calculated to increase the conflict."
Meanwhile, Brad's team also called out Angelina for asking for a quickie divorce, saying he's the one who asked to dissolve the marriage, despite ongoing custody and support issues. The filing calls it an attempt to make it look like Angelina wanted out as soon as possible, branding it a “a thinly-veiled effort to manipulate media coverage.”
Back in June, the exes made headlines when court docs revealed a judge wanted Brad to spend more time with their six children.
While eldest son Maddox, 16, was allowed to choose his own custody arrangements, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge John W. Ouderkirk was clear that moving forward, Brad would have more contact with the younger children, Pax, 14, Zahara, 13, Shiloh, 12, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 9.
Angelina and Brad split in September 2016 after two years of marriage. They had been partners for nearly 12 years.
