Andy Cohen on Bethenny Leaving 'RHONY': 'She's Out Now...'
Andy Cohen was with "Extra's" Jennifer Lahmers at Sirius XM's "Radio Andy Theater" event in West Hollywood Saturday, dishing on all the Housewife gossip!
Asked about Bethenny Frankel bolting the franchise once again, Andy said, "The door that we have on the 'Real Housewives' is a revolving door, so she's out now, [but] I am hoping she comes back in at some point." Smiling, he said, "The drama keeps happening and life will go on."
As for the possibility that Jill Zarin may be coming back to "The Real Housewives of New York City," Andy said, "I think you will definitely be seeing Jill popping up."
Andy said he thinks it would “amazing" if Wendy Williams would join the franchise, a rumor that's been swirling recently. "It's a pretty good idea," he teased.
The host also let "Extra" know that Countess Luann de Lesseps is doing well after a series of personal setbacks. "We texted the day her probation ended," he said, "and I'm very proud of her; she has been through a tough time. You know, staying sober is rough."
It's been a rough week for two other "RHONY" cast members, with Sonja Morgan and Dorinda Medley attracting criticism for making transphobic remarks on social media at the expense of first-time New York Fashion Week runway model Yasmine Petty, who is transgender. In a video posted to the @HausOfBravo Twitter account, Morgan asked Medley, "Who is that? Oh, that's a guy, right?" referring to drag queen Miz Cracker. Medley then said of Petty, "Yeah, with a body like that, it's a guy, you're absolutely right."
Petty called both women out, saying in part, "Don't worry about me, I'll be fine. But we as a society must do better. People in positions of influence and power must do better."
Andy said of the remarks, which were deleted, "I know they felt terribly and apologized and took it as a learning experience on several levels."
As for his own life at home as a single dad, Andy happily updated us on his baby son Ben, saying he is "almost crawling... he is scooting. I am feeding him baby food, which he initially hates but loves."
"I'm trying for his first word to be 'daddy,'" Andy admitted. "I say it around him a lot: 'Daddy, daddy... doggie, doggie.' I would be happy if it's 'daddy' or 'doggie.'"
