Amanda Kloots & Elaine Welteroth Named New Co-Hosts of ‘The Talk’
A month after Eve broke the news of her exit, “The Talk” has just announced two new co-hosts!
Starting January 4, Nick Cordero’s widow Amanda Kloots and “Project Runway” judge Elaine Welteroth will be joining Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood and Carrie Ann Inaba at the table.
Over the past few months, both have been filling in as guest hosts.
In a statement, Amanda expressed her excitement over her new gig, saying, "I am thrilled and honored to join this incredible cast and crew. From the very first time I guest co-hosted on ‘The Talk,’ I knew I was among a very special group of people. I look forward to starting off the new year with honest and thought-provoking discussions, mixed with plenty of fun and laughter too."
In her own statement, Elaine said “I am beyond excited and grateful for the opportunity to join the phenomenal women of ‘The Talk.’ They have each made me feel right at home alongside them on this incredible platform that cultivates connection, kindness and understanding when we all need it most. I look forward to learning from them and lending my perspective to conversations that build bridges in this singular time in our world."
CBS Entertainment president Kelly Kahl praised the women, saying, “Amanda and Elaine are accomplished and relatable women, whose talents and personality stood out during their multiple guest appearances this fall. They bring a fresh new dimension to the show and we’re very excited to have them join the panel. These five hosts together present a compelling mix of personalities and opinions that will continue to elevate the series and lead ‘The Talk’ well into the future."
In November, Eve revealed why she was leaving “The Talk” while on lockdown in London, where she has been living with husband Maximillion Cooper. Referencing travel restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic, she said, “I've been so grateful I've been able to stay here in London and do the show, but I can't see for me, in the foreseeable future, of traveling back at the moment.”
Why Eve Is Exiting ‘The Talk’
View StoryEve said she will be exiting the show as a co-host “at the end of December,” admitting, “This is one of the hardest decisions in the world.”
Eve noted that “another lockdown” also influenced her decision. She explained, “Staying home has been such a blessing because my husband and I got to know each other in a different way. I want to concentrate on expanding our family, being with my family.”
Stressing that it was a tough decision to make, Eve went on, “At some point, you have to choose what makes you happy, what's right for your family.”
A few months ago, Marie Osmond stepped away from the show after a year as co-host. In a statement, Marie explained her decision, saying, “One of the highlights of my year at 'The Talk' was working with my dear friend John Redmann and I'm excited to continue our working relationship on several projects we are developing. Also, my husband and I just dropped our last two kids off at college, we looked at each other, laughed and remembered we hadn't been this alone together since 1982!! So, at this stage of my life, I'm looking forward to spending more time with him and visiting all the kids/grandkids.”
