First Pics! ‘American Idol’ Alum Kris Allen Welcomes Baby #3

“American Idol” winner Kris Allen, 34, is a dad for the third time!

Kris and wife Katy welcomed a baby boy, who they named Marlo James Francis Allen.

On Wednesday, Allen posted a pic of his precious bundle of joy, writing on Instagram, “Marlo has only been in the world for a day but I couldn't imagine loving him any more than I do right now. But I know that will only grow.”

Allen also praised his wife, writing, “I could not be more proud of my wife. She is the definition of a superhero.”

Marlo weighed 8 lbs., 3 oz., and measured 21 inches.

Katy shared her own pics, explaining how their son Oliver helped them come up with Marlo's name. She wrote, “In the spring of 2018, Kris and I were briefly discussing the possibility of having a third kid. I asked Oliver what he would think about having another baby in the family, and he said he would like it. I asked him what he thought we should name the baby if we had one, and he thought for just a moment and said “Marlo!”

“I was surprised because it would have been more like him to say something like Optimus Prime.🤪,” Katy joked.

Marlo's middle names James Francis are in honor of Kris' great-grandfather and Katy's grandfather, father, and brother.

Katy and Kris announced in May that they were expecting in. Along with a pic of her baby bump, Kris posted, “Happy Mother's Day to my baby mama. I could not have asked for a better mom to my kids. She is selfless, hardworking, always thinking about the next things for them, a teacher, a role model, a badass, and more than anything completely in love with them. Can't wait to have another with you sweetheart.”

Katy shared the same photo, adding, “One of my greatest joys in life is being Oliver and Rosie's mom! They keep our lives busy and crazy, and it's about to get crazier with our third on the way, but I wouldn't change a thing.”
