Last week, Fisher popped the question to Woods in front of their close friends and family in Birmingham, Alabama, People magazine reports. Along with posting a video of the proposal, Jordan wrote on Instagram, “5/20/19 – I asked my best friend a question…and she said yes. I love you so much, Ellie Woods. Can't wait to make you my wife MY WIFE.”
Ellie shared the same video, adding, “5/20/19 I said yes to the love of my life! Can't wait to be your wife, Jordan William Fisher. Let's get married!”
She told People, “It was the biggest surprise of my life! I'm a very hard person to surprise so the fact that he pulled it off, kudos to you, babe.”
Fisher took two months to plan the proposal at Ellie's parents' beach home. She shared, “It's a really special place for us, and when we started to pull into the neighborhood he was just going on about how we've been friends for so long, and I wasn't really picking up on it. Then we pulled into my parents' house and I was like, 'What is that?' We stopped, got out of the car and Jordan walked me to our backyard where there's a little deck over the pond.”
Once Jordan got down on one knee, the “emotional” Ellie started “sobbing as well.”
They celebrated their engagement with their loved ones. Jordan dished, “Being able to have my folks there, her folks and her brother and his girlfriend… we all go way back. It's so, so special.”
Jordan and Ellie “were best friends growing up,” before things turned romantic years later. He knew she was “the one,” after “two months into dating.”

He emphasized, “When I realized very early on that I couldn't picture my life without Ellie, I was like, 'I gotta do something about that!'”
Jordan worked with an L.A.-based jeweler to design her 2.75-carat, pear-shaped diamond ring. He said, “I knew her favorite cut. I think it's super classy, and I had a picture in my head of what I wanted it to look like with the pave flooding down the side of the ring.”
Woods, who is graduating from the University of Alabama this summer, “couldn't be happier” with the “gorgeous” ring.
The couple is planning to have a yearlong engagement. She explained, “A year gives us plenty of time for us to plan a wedding without it being super stressful. We want it to be fun and full of love and excitement.”
Though they aren't married yet, Jordan and Ellie are already talking about having a family together. She said, “His goal in life is to have a family. I'm not an actress or in the entertainment industry in any way, so it was really important for me to find a husband that was grounded and had goals that were the same as mine. For us to both agree that family was the most important thing that we get out of life was a big sign for me.”
Two years ago, when Jordan was competing on “Dancing on the Stars,” Ellie was showing her support from 2,000 miles away. He told People, “She's freaking out right now about 2,000 miles away. She's buried in books at the moment, but it's the same thing — being able to have somebody that you love and that loves you and can accept all of the things you have to give them after a long, hard day of rehearsal, it's unbelievable.”
