Double Take! Kim Kardashian’s Met Gala Dress Is an Optical Illusion

The reality star stunned in a Thierry Mugler dress designed to look as if it were dripping wet.

Mugler pulled off the look using a latex gown covered in beads that emulated droplets of water.

To pull together the cohesive look, Kim rocked a “wet” 'do and got a manicure with tiny droplets.

In her Instagram Stories, Kim joked “straight out of the ocean and onto the red carpet.”

Kardashian told Vogue, “This is the first time in 20 years Mr. Mugler has designed for the House of Mugler. So to come and design this gown for me is such an honor. This is about eight months in the making … He envisioned me this California girl stepping out of the ocean, wet, dripping.”

Kim's trainer Melisa Alcantara also took to Instagram to defend her after haters accused her of manipulating her body to fit into the dress. She said, "To make things clear. 1. This dress is corseted BUT 2. Kim trains her ass off 6 days a f**king week, she wakes up early AF and is dedicated."

Melisa added, "3. I paved the road for her but SHE did the work! MOST IMPORTANTLY I don't give sh*t about your opinions on her body, if you think [it's] fake or not! I see her every morning, I see her train and I see her sweat and I see all the work she does outside the gym and THAT is commendable!"

The Met Gala was a family affair for Kim, who attended with husband Kanye West. Mom Kris Jenner and sisters Kendall and Kylie were also there.

Kim and Kanye also posed for a selfie with friends Alex Rodriguez and Jennifer Lopez.

Following the gala, Kim got her Cher on, changing into a tight blue latex dress for the after-party at Up and Down in NYC.

She paired the dress with a tinsel wig, zip-up gloves, matching blue, zip-up, knee-high socks, and PVC heels, bearing a strong resemblance to the music legend!

Kim is a big fan of Cher's, even attending the opening night of "The Cher Show" last year. The two also met at the Hollywood premiere of "The Promise" two years ago.

In the past, Kim has rocked long, jet-black hair, just like Cher, for a photo shoot. She tweeted, "I am so inspired by my style icon Armenian queen @cher."
