Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Break Another Royal Tradition with Private Birth Plan
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's bundle of joy will be arriving in a few weeks, but we may not get a look at the new royal for a while.
On Thursday, Buckingham Palace released a statement on behalf of the couple, saying, “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very grateful for the goodwill they have received from people throughout the United Kingdom and around the world as they prepare to welcome their baby. Their Royal Highnesses have taken a personal decision to keep the plans around the arrival of their baby private. The Duke and Duchess look forward to sharing the exciting news with everyone once they have had an opportunity to celebrate privately as a new family.”
The couple is breaking tradition, since they won't be posing with the newborn baby outside the hospital, like Prince William and Kate Middleton did with their three children, and as Harry's late mother Princess Diana also did.
Harry and Meghan will instead have a photo op with their baby, days after the birth, at Windsor Castle. Only one reporter, one photographer and one TV camera will be present.
It is currently unknown where Meghan will give birth.
