Emmy Rossum’s Post-'Shameless' Plans Revealed
“Shameless” star Emmy Rossum is done playing Fiona Gallagher on the hit TV show after nine seasons, but what's her next big move?
On Wednesday, Rossum announced that she has signed a first-look overall deal with Universal Content Productions, allowing her to develop scripted content under her newly launched production company, Composition 8.
She posted on Instagram, “I'm excited to finally announce my production company COMPOSITION 8. The opportunity to tell stories is a gift and there has been no greater time than now for women to lead the charge. I am thrilled to be partnering with UCP to create opportunity for new and diverse voices.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, her upcoming limited series “Angelyne” will be the first show picked up by NBC Universal's forthcoming streaming service, which is expected to launch next year. Along with starring as the pop culture icon, Rossum will be executive-producing the series with husband Sam Esmail, who recently executive-produced “Homecoming” with Julia Roberts.
