Tragic Details Surrounding the Death of Skincare Mogul Brandon Truaxe
Deciem founder Brandon Truaxe was found dead on Sunday, reports Radar. He was 40.
It is believed he jumped or fell from his 32nd floor penthouse in the Distillery District.
Toronto police told the site that Truaxe jumped, and landed on the terrace of a sixth floor apartment.
“He was found dead at the scene,” a police spokesperson said. “Someone looked under their balcony window and saw someone lying on the terrace half covered in snow, meaning he had been there for a while.”
There was no evidence of foul play. His Deciem colleague Riyadh Swedaan told the National Post, “I don't think he jumped. I think he fell,”
On Saturday, Truaxe posted a series of videos on Instagram from his apartment, where he talked about drinking tequila and gave his home address multiple times.
According to the Financial Post, the skincare mogul had recently been ousted from Deciem, after ongoing erratic behavior and three hospital stays reportedly related to mental illness and drug use.
The publication wrote a detailed account of what transpired between Brandon and Deciem, and spoke to Truaxe a few weeks after he was dismissed. Read the article here.
After his death, Deciem paid tribute to Brandon in an Instagram message. “Brandon, our founder and friend. You touched our hearts, inspired our minds and made us believe that anything is possible. Thank you for every laugh, every learning and every moment of your genius. Whilst we can't imagine a world without you, we promise to take care of each other and will work hard to continue your vision. May you finally be at peace. Love, (forever) your DECIEM ❤”
