Would John Cena Consider Oscars Hosting Gig?
John Cena is taking on a Transformer in the new movie “Bumblebee.”
“Extra's” Terri Seymour sat down with the WWE star, who weighed in on Oscar host replacements and his new look.
Last week, Kevin Hart stepped down as host of the 2019 Oscars, but would John consider the gig if offered? While he has successfully hosted TV shows in the past, John noted, “I still have so much to learn about this profession and the Oscars are a very esteemed night and I think that as much as I love hosting, I'd like to get a few more reps before I even get around that moment.”
At the moment, the 41-year-old is promoting “Bumblebee,” which centers around a Transformers robot who is on the run in 1987 and seeks refuge in a California junkyard. Cena said he loves what he is doing, emphasizing, “To be able to entertain people and call it work is actually a dream come true at any age.”
John is currently transforming his look, growing out his hair. Smiling, he shared, “I'm grateful for it because with so much controversial news out there, it's nice for everyone to be like, 'His hair is weird!' and hopefully give everyone a chuckle or a smile."
Explaining the real reason behind the longer locks, John said, “I just did an action movie in China with Jackie Chan and the director said, 'Could you grow your hair out?' and I said, 'Ugh... sure, I'll go for it.'”
“Bumblebee” is in theaters December 21.
