Mel B Hospitalized for 'Severed' Hand and Broken Ribs
“America's Got Talent” judge Mel B was rushed to a hospital after falling at a friend's house in London.

TMZ reports Mel required immediate surgery for a severe cut on her hand and broken ribs. According to her friend Gary Madatyan, she was asleep upstairs, woke up, and lost her footing while going down a staircase.
Gary and Mel B's lawyer pointed out that drugs and alcohol did not play a part in her fall.
On Monday, Mel posted a pic of her injured hand, which she described as "severed." She wrote on Instagram, “Thankyou to all the wonderful nurses dr's and my amazing surgeon for the care and expertise given to me here at the hospital I've been staying at,suffering 2 broken ribs a severed right hand needing emergency care,to having had to have over a 3 hr surgery to repair the damage hence the purple sling.”
As well as announcing that she'll have to cancel her book signing in New York, Mel said of the accident, “My right arm/hand is all stitched up and I'm trying to keep still to heal my broken ribs.”
After the accident, Spice Girls bandmates Geri Halliwell Horner, Melanie C, and Emma Bunton visited Mel in her hospital room. She posted a Boomerang video, writing, “When your besties show up to hospital with hugs laughter and ALOT of love,ahhhh I love my spice girls yipppeee #friendship #family #spicegirls.”
