Jimmy Fallon's Mother Passes Away

A day after Jimmy Fallon abruptly canceled the Friday taping of his "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" in order to be with his ailing mom by her hospital bed, People magazine has confirmed her death.

View Story"Jimmy Fallon's mother, Gloria, died peacefully on Saturday," a Fallon family spokesperson told People. "Jimmy was at his mother's bedside, along with her loved ones, when she passed away at NYU Langone Medical Center in NYC. Our prayers go out to Jimmy and his family as they go through this tough time."
After the sad news, NBC revealed that new episodes of his show will not be taping next week. In a statement, the network said, "On behalf of everyone at NBC, we extend our deepest condolences to Jimmy and all his family at this time of enormous loss. Our hearts go out to Jimmy and everyone else whose lives were so touched by Gloria Fallon's love, kindness and support."
Fallon has referred to his beloved mom on his show. In May of this year, he tweeted a funny quip about his mother:
