Josh Groban Tweets About NYC Terror Attack: 'I Heard Gun Shots'
Singer Josh Groban was just half a block away when a driver allegedly drove the wrong way down a bike path in Manhattan in what authorities have now said they believe was a terror attack.
At least eight are dead and more than a dozen were injured following the attack, according to NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio.
Witnesses and those in the vicinity, like Josh, also reported hearing gun shots. Law enforcement told the New York Times that the driver, who was behind the wheel of a rented Home Depot truck, eventually got out of the vehicle with a pellet gun and shouted something authorities have described as being consistent with terrorism. The suspect was shot in the abdomen by police and was taken to an unnamed hospital.
Groban, who was walking his dog, shared his experience in a series of tweets that started with, “Oh my god I just heard gun shots and ran with my dog. Downtown. F**k.”
He followed up with, “I hope everyone's ok. Was half a block from me, didn't see it but heard 8-10 quick rounds fired off. Be safe with your kids out there.”

Josh said the incident left him “shaking,” adding, “That's the corner I was supposed to have my coffee but my dog pulled me into the park half a block away 10 min before shooting.”
