Harry Dean Stanton Dead at 91
Actor Harry Dean Stanton, best known for his roles in “The Godfather: Part II” (1974), "Alien" (1979) and “Pretty in Pink" (1986), has died. He was 91.
TMZ reports Stanton passed away at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in L.A. The cause of death is unknown.
The star was a WWII veteran who fought in the Battle of Okinawa. Making his TV debut in 1954, he went on to star in countless movies and TV shows, including fan-favorite films "Escape from New York" (1981), “Repo Man” (1984) and "Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me" (1992), and the TV series “Big Love” (2006-2010), "Getting On" (2013-2015) and “Twin Peaks" (2017).
He will appear in the film “Lucky,” which opens this month, and in the forthcoming biopic "Frank and Ava," about the love affair between screen icons Frank Sinatra and Ava Gardner.
