Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman and football player Colton Underwood have called it quits after six months of dating.
Underwood recently told Lincoln Journal Star, "We're taking a break right now. We're still good friends and talk, but all that travel had been a nightmare.”
Distance may have been a big reason for the split, but they ended amicably, with Underwood saying, “Those six months were great… It ended fine. We're in a good place."
In December, the two made it official with their red-carpet debut at the Sports Illustrated Sportsperson of the Year event. He admitted, "It put a lot of pressure on us, sure, but we had fun with it. A lot of fun date nights.”
Last year, Underwood and Raisman were introduced by mutual friends Andrew East and Shawn Johnson. The 25-year-old asked her on a date during a live Q&A with Yahoo. At the time, he said on video, “Just want to congratulate you on all your success in the competitions and representing the U.S.A. over there. I know I've been following along. My roommates, my teammates, everybody here is super proud of you. If you're ever in San Jose and want to go on a double date with me and Andrew and Shawn, let me know.”
