Simone Biles’ Reaction to Shocking ‘Dancing with the Stars’ Exit, Plus: Her Encouraging Words for Gia!
Last night, America was surprised by Olympic gymnast Simone Biles' elimination from “Dancing with the Stars.”
The gold medalist received perfect scores for her jive and rumba with pro dancer Sasha Farber, but that didn't save her.
After the show, “Extra's” Mario Lopez caught up with Biles, who was still able to flash a smile. She said, “I feel okay. I've been going nonstop since the Olympics. Maybe it is a blessing in disguise — sorry, Sasha… I feel like I've learned so much about myself.”
What are her plans after the show? Biles said, “Well, I'm gonna figure out how I'm supposed to put myself together for 'Good Morning America.'"
Mario's adorable daughter Gia also received some words of encouragement from Simone when she shared her dreams of being in the Olympics in the future. Simone smiled and told her, “Yes, you are going to be in the Olympics one day, and maybe I can come watch you.”
When Gia asked about her night on the dance floor, Simone responded, “I did have a lot of fun tonight. I think we did really well and the score showed that, so we couldn't be more proud."
Of her favorite dance of the night, Simone told Gia, “I think the rumba is my favorite dance tonight; it was our second dance. I really enjoyed that one.”
As for the music that she likes to dance to, Simone revealed, “I feel like any Beyoncé song. I do love Demi Lovato, we got to dance to her — that's pretty nice.”
On Tuesday, Simone joked about her exit on “Good Morning America,” saying, "I thought they were going to pull a Steve Harvey on us — at least I was hoping. But, I mean, it's okay.”
Simone's appearance on “DWTS” was one season after her teammate Laurie Hernandez took home the mirrorball trophy with Val Chmerkovskiy. She commented, "At times I think the expectations were a little bit different for each contestant, and it's hard to follow Laurie. I think they wanted me to pick up where she left off, which is very hard because we're two different people, but I had an amazing time on the show.”
