James Harden Explains Why Relationship with Khloé Kardashian Didn't Work
NBA star James Harden is spilling the details to Sports Illustrated why his relationship with Khloé Kardashian's fizzled.
The couple, who were together for eight months, called it quits in February 2016. At first, things seemed to point toward the distance between them — Khloé was living in Los Angeles and Harden was in Houston, where he played with the Rockets — and the fact that Lamar Odom was in the hospital during their relationship.
Now, James is speaking out to Sports Illustrated, revealing that he didn't like living in the spotlight that came with dating a Kardashian. He told the magazine, "I feel like it was for no reason. I wasn't getting anything out of it except my name out there and my face out there, and I don't need that. It wasn't uncomfortable, but it wasn't me."
“KUWTK" fans wanted to know everything about who Khloé was dating. "I don't need pictures of myself when I'm driving my car. Who cares? What shoes am I wearing? Who cares? Where am I eating? Who cares? It was unnecessary stuff that I think trickled down to my teammates. I had to eliminate that."
On “Keeping up with the Kardashians,” Khloé insinuated that maybe Harden wasn't committed to their relationship. Harden said, "There's a lot of s--t going on in both of our lives. 'You live in Houston, I live in L.A. Let's just see each other when we see each other.' Why wouldn't you say, 'Okay, that's great'? He sought me out, wanted to be committed, then wasn't committed.”
The 32-year-old reality star has now found love with another NBA star, Cleveland Cavaliers player Tristan Thompson. The two have been dating since September and recently spent the NBA All-Star break vacationing in Jamaica. The two spent the romantic getaway zip-lining and hitting the hot spots, including Usain Bolt's restaurant Tracks & Records.
