Denzel Washington & Wife Share Secret of Their 34-Year Marriage
Denzel Washington bested Casey Affleck at the SAG Awards Sunday night, taking home the prize for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role for his incredible work in the film “Fences.”
“Extra's” Charissa Thompson was with Denzel and his gorgeous wife Pauletta on the red carpet, where Pauletta revealed what she liked best about her husband's performance, saying, “The honesty and the depth — the great depth, great depth.”
Denzel shared, "August Wilson wrote a masterpiece; I'm just happy to be a small part, and bring August Wilson's genius to film.”
The two have been married since 1983, but Pauletta said there was no secret to their longevity as a couple. "Our faith,” she shared. “Nothing is magic, it's just work.”
Denzel added, “I got a good woman — that's the first thing. You just keep working at it.”
"Extra” was also with Denzel backstage after his big win, where he spoke out regarding the current political climate. The actor said, "We as Americans better unite," and saying we need to hold our elected officials responsible,
