Johnny Depp & Amber Heard Finalize Divorce
Johnny Depp and Amber Heard have officially ended their marriage.
Nearly eight months after their split, their divorce has been finalized. Her attorney told People magazine, "It is a great day. All Amber wanted was a divorce and now she has it. In the words of Gerald Ford, 'Our long national nightmare is over.'”
The divorce was finalized just weeks after Depp requested that Amber pay $100,000 for delaying the proceedings, which was denied by a judge. During that time, Amber also filed a request to order motion to force him to pay the $7 million he agreed to pay to her in their divorce settlement. In the court documents, Heard claimed, "Johnny has not lived up to his obligation to me under the [settlement], including payments, allowing me to retrieve my personal property, transferring title of a vehicle to me and meeting regarding division of the furniture and furnishings in the residential units we occupied.”
Depp's legal team responded to the accusations, saying the motion was "an embarrassing grab for additional and unwarranted attorney's fees.”
