Britney Spears Claims She's 'Anxiety-Ridden,' 'Boring' in Flaunt Cover Story
On Flaunt's cover, Britney Spears looks ethereal. Inside, she poses in revealing black undergarments near a special set featuring the Virgin Mary. Yet she insists in the accompanying interview that she's "boring."
Britney Spears... boring?
"I don't go out," she said during her tightly managed, 20-minute interview for the edgy magazine. "I don't really do anything. I should be Mother Mary, seriously. I think my life has done a complete 360. Things are just different now. It's a different time. It's a different era.”
Britney, who also cops to being a "weird, anxiety-ridden person" when around a lot of people, chalks up the lack of partying and excitement in her life to having two kids and having a great security team. “I think with a lot of things in the past, I didn't have security. I didn't have the guidelines that I have now, which are brilliant. I'm very close to my security team."
Britney took advantage of the quiet to craft her new album, "Glory," which has garnered some of the best reviews of her career, and which spent its first week in release at #3 on the Billboard 200. She's also performing her Britney: Piece of Me show at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. Even though the show is dripping with her greatest hits, Britney herself is not particularly nostalgic — she wasn't thrilled with her "Carpool Karaoke" experience with James Corden because he focused on "... Baby One More Time" and "Oops!... I Did It Again."
She told Flaunt, “It's funny, because I don't really listen to my music. My kids do and my nieces do. I'm about the creative process. I'm in the moment of being creative and then I put it out there... I'm all about change. And new. And forthcoming."
