Simon Cowell’s Elaborate Plan for a Political ‘AGT’ Season Finale with Donald Trump & Hillary Clinton
Last night, “Extra's” Terri Seymour caught up with good friend Simon Cowell after a taping of “America's Got Talent,” where they came up with a political plan for the show.
On the carpet, Terri pulled up a video of Senator Tim Kaine showing off his harmonica skills on YouTube to Simon, who invited not only him but presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump on the hit NBC show. He joked, “Yes. You know what we should do? Get Donald and Hillary on the finale of 'America's Got Talent.' They could do whatever they want — sing, comedy, dance — and that could be part of the election process. We are inviting them on the 'America's Got Talent' live show and America will vote.”
When Terri asked if he was officially inviting Hillary and Donald, Simon responded, “One hundred percent. I think it's a great idea.”
One thing that Simon did not think was a good idea was being a part of the act for juggling duo the Passing Zone. Though the other judges participated, Simon did not. He explained, “If you think I'm gonna be part of some stupid juggling act, think again…"
What Simon can get behind is 12-year-old singing sensation Grace VanderWaal. “Everything that comes from her is not ideally perfect,” he said approvingly, "but that's what kind of makes her perfect.”
Cowell was also excited for tonight's results show with special guest, Olympic gold-medal swimmer Michael Phelps. When Terri asked if Simon was going to get any swimming tips from Michael for his son Eric, he replied, “I'm gonna get a picture.”
