'Picket Fences,' 'Boston Public' Actor Fyvush Finkel Dead at 93
Fyvush Finkel, the actor beloved for his roles on "Picket Fences" and "Boston Public," has died at 93, Variety reports.
Finkel, a Yiddish theater legend, died Sunday in Manhattan. His son, Ian, confirmed he had been suffering from heart problems.
The actor's biggest breaks were in the national production of "Fiddler on the Roof" (1964) and, on the big screen, in "Q&A" (1990). The latter led to his part as Douglas Wambaugh on David E. Kelley's "Picket Fences," for which he won an Emmy. He went on to play a teacher on "Boston Public."
Finkel was married for 61 years to Trudi Lieberman until her death in 2008. He is survived by two sons.
