Michael Weatherly Watched His ‘NCIS’ Exit with Tears in His Eyes
Earlier today, “Extra's” AJ Calloway caught up with Michael Weatherly at the CBS upfronts, where he dished on his “NCIS” good-bye in last night's episode.
Weatherly said, “I thought it was a really beautiful show last night, and I thought everyone did such an amazing job — that writing staff, that creative team — and it was emotional for me to say good-bye, but as a viewer and a fan of the show, I felt so connected watching it last night. It was a little tears, but we survived."
Though he is no longer on “NCIS,” he is returning to television in the new legal drama “Bull,” which has him playing a Dr. Phil-inspired character. He joked, “No, I don't have a bald cap or a mustache. I am playing Dr. Jason Bull and what Bull does is he looks at a jury trial and he breaks down the identities of everybody involved.”
Joined by his co-stars Freddie Rodriguez, Jaime Lee Kirchner, and Annabelle Attanasio, he praised Dr. Phil, a consultant on the show, saying, “This a world that Phil McGraw understands better than anybody.”
"Bull" will air on Tuesdays this coming fall.
