Mel Gibson Will Not Be Charged for Alleged Attack Against Photographer
Mel Gibson has been cleared of any wrongdoing in his alleged paparazzi assault, which grabbed headlines two weeks ago.
The 59-year-old actor's lawyer, Christopher Murphy, said in a statement, "Police have completed a thorough investigation of allegations made by a Sydney photographer and have concluded there is no evidence to substantiate any charge against my client Mel Gibson.”
"Mel Gibson has totally denied from the onset that these disgraceful allegations were true. He is now satisfied that the police, after speaking to witnesses and reviewing CCTV footage and other evidence, have found there is no substance to the claim. The story is a complete fabrication of the truth as stated previously," he added.
At the end of August, photographer Kristi Miller claimed that she was assaulted by Mel outside Palace Verona Cinemas after trying to take his photo.
It has been rumored that Mel is planning to sue the Telegraph, which employs Kristi, for defamation, according to Sydney Morning Herald.
