Video: Josh Duggar Gets Kiss from Wife Anna, She Thanks Jim Bob for ‘Raising Awesome Husband’
Josh Duggar has been keeping a low profile since news of his molestation scandal, but on Father's Day he and his wife Anna posted a video message for his dad, Jim Bob Duggar, paying tribute to the “19 Kids and Counting” patriarch.
“Happy Father's Day Pops,” Anna Duggar, 26, said in the video message posted June 21. “Thank you for raising such an awesome husband.”
Anna, due any day now with the couple's fourth child, then kissed her husband Josh. The 27-year-old son stood next to his pregnant wife as he recalled some special moments he shared with his father, and thanked Jim Bob for also being a great grandfather to his three kids.
"I can also just think of all the moments where you've been there for us through the hard times and through the good times, and I know that your investment in each one of our lives is priceless, and we're so grateful for you," he said.
Josh's video was uploaded to the Duggar Family Blog, along with videos from his siblings; Jackson, James, Johannah, Jason, Jed, Jessa, and Jill.
This is the first time Josh has spoken publicly since he issued a statement on May 21 on Facebook, when he apologized for his “inexcusable” actions.
Josh's wife Anna has remained supportive, revealing he told her about his “past teenage mistakes” two years before he proposed. “I can imagine the shock many of you are going through reading this. I remember feeling that same shock. When my family and I first visited the Duggar home, Josh shared his past teenage mistakes. I was surprised at his openness and humility and at the same time didn't know why he was sharing it. For Josh, he wanted not just me but my parents to know who he really was – even every difficult past mistakes."
She claimed the counseling he received was life-changing. "He continued to do what he was taught. [I know] who Josh really is – someone who had gone down a wrong path and had humbled himself before God and those whom he had offended. Someone who had received the help needed to change the direction of his life and do what is right.”
