Help Fight Malaria, One Bracelet at a Time
Saturday is World Malaria Day, and you can help fight this deadly disease with the “Buy a Bracelet Save a Life” program.
Los Angeles resident Kristen Kenney, a malaria survivor who contracted the disease while traveling in Tanzania, founded the Malaika for Life organization in 2009 to help fight the deadly illness.
Since its inception, Malaika for Life has provided malaria medication to over 36,000 people in Tanzania. The “Buy a Bracelet Save a Life” program helps pay for the medication, as well as provide employment to the women who make the jewelry.
