Kathie Lee Gifford Reveals Bill Cosby Tried to Kiss Her
“Today” show co-host Kathie Lee Gifford claims the comedian once tried to kiss her in the '70s.
According to NY Daily News, Gifford spoke on the morning show on Tuesday, explaining, “I will admit, towards the very last times I saw him, he did try to kiss me. I said, 'Bill, no, we're friends,' and he said, 'Okay, goodnight,' and I said, 'Goodnight.' And I went to my room, and he went into his room. A lot of married men come on to single women… but once I said, 'No, absolutely not,' he respected it.”
Supermodel Beverly Johnson recently claimed Cosby drugged her in the mid-'80s, and Kathie Lee commented this, saying, “I do know that I got a chill [reading Beverly Johnson's story], because every night when we'd come offstage and Bill would be going onstage, he would have made cappuccinos for all three of us. And I always thought it was such a kindness and it was so sweet, and now you see Beverly Johnson saying that he made her a cappuccino, and I just don't want it to be true, but I'm not saying that the women are liars. I'm just saying I never personally saw it with my own two eyes.”
Cosby's wife Camille recently released a statement coming to his defense against the sexual abuse allegations.
So far, more than 20 women have come forward accusing Cosby, 77, of sexual assault.
Cosby's lawyer, Marty Singer, released a statement last month regarding the "alleged decades-old events" against his client, saying they are "unsubstantiated stories” and asking the media to stop the "vilification of Mr. Cosby."
Cosby settled a civil suit with an alleged victim in November 2006.
