Rob Lowe on Zac Efron: ‘He’s Been a Good Addition to My Life’
Actor Rob Lowe joined “Extra’s” Maria Menounos at Universal Studios Hollywood, opening up about his friendship with Zac Efron.
Lowe, who has been sober for many years, publicly supported Efron in his battle with addiction. Lowe explained, “He reminds me a little bit of myself when I was younger, and he’s a great friend to my boys as well. Anytime I can share my experiences with people, I like to do it.”
The “Killing Kennedy” star continued, “He’s a smart, really talented guy, big future. He’s doing great. He’s been a good addition in my life.”
Lowe also shared his experience in playing President Kennedy. “I spent a lot of time listening to his voice, mostly his private phone calls… You have to find things that no one has found in the voice.”
As for what people can expect in the movie, “It’s a little bit like watching ‘Titanic.’ You know how it ends, and yet you cannot believe it’s going to end the way it ends. You’re on the edge of your seat. The other thing that moved me is what a love story it is.”
“Killing Kennedy” premieres on the National Geographic Channel, Sunday, November 10.
