‘DWTS’ Recap: The First Dancing Duo Goes Home
“Dancing with the Stars” Season 17 had to eliminate their first contestant, and unfortunately that was NFL star Keyshawn Johnson and his partner, Sharna Burgess.
Host Tom Bergeron explained that votes for Monday's performances will count toward next week's scores, but scores from judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli for the dances went toward tonight's elimination.
Check out Johnson's performance from last week's premiere!
Johnson felt a little overwhelmed with traveling between ESPN and the show. His samba with partner Sharna Burgess brought some funk. Bruno loved it, saying he wasn't sure if "all of the things were legal." Carrie Ann said he was "a little rough around the edges." Len admired his effort, saying he was definitely "working his assets."
Still, Johnson was first to go home. He said after the announcement, “For a guy that's never even bobbed his head in the car, the fact that I could have the experience of dance... is something amazing to me." He also praised Burgess, "I wish I could have done more to help her out."
Tune in to "DWTS" next Monday for week three on ABC!
