Kristin Chenoweth and Josh Waller on Cory Monteith’s Death
As the death of actor Cory Monteith reverberates through Hollywood, “Extra” spoke with Cory’s “Glee” co-star Kristin Chenoweth and director Josh Waller.
“Extra’s” Terri Seymour caught up with Chenoweth as she was shooting a guest spot for the TV Land show "Kirstie.” The actress said, “I think about those kids… he was a sweet kid. He just was having fun.”
“Extra” also spoke with Waller, who directed Monteith in one of his last projects, the indie film “McCanick,” in which Cory plays a drug-addicted street hustler.
Waller explained Monteith was open about his past struggles with drugs, but said the actor seemed happy when they recently screened the movie. Waller said, “Everything seemed fine. He had said that the past few months had been kind of tough, and I made my own assumptions as to what he was talking about.”
The director said of Monteith's death, “It’s a tough thing to hear as a friend and someone who enjoyed the working experience with him. A very genuine, good guy.”
