‘Lincoln’ Leads Golden Globe Nominations
“Lincoln” took the top spot at the Golden Globe nominations on Thursday morning, leading the pack with seven nominations. Nods included best drama, best director for Spielberg and acting accolades for Daniel Day-Lewis, Sally Field and Tommy Lee Jones.
Ben Affleck's “Argo” and Quentin Tarantino's “Django Unchained” both tied for second place with five nominations each. The films will compete for Best Drama with “Life of Pi” and “Zero Dark Thirty.”
Best Musical competitors include “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel,” “Les Miserables,” “Moonrise Kingdom,” “Salmon Fishing in the Yemen” and “Silver Linings Playbook.”
On the television side, the Drama race includes "Breaking Bad," "Boardwalk Empire," "Downton Abbey," "Homeland" and "The Newsroom." Meanwhile, "Big Bang Theory," "Episodes," "Girls," "Modern Family" and "Smash" will compete for Best Comedy Series.
Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will host the the 70th annual Golden Globe Awards on Jan. 13 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel live on NBC.
