The $20-Million Question: Is J.Lo Coming Back to 'Idol'?
Singer Phillip Phillips was chosen as the new “American Idol” Wednesday, but the big question on everyone’s mind is whether judge Jennifer Lopez will return for another season.
Rumors are swirling that FOX has yet to ask the judges to return and may be delaying negotiation deals, which reportedly could be a $20 million payday for Jennifer. Lopez appeared on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show right after the “Idol” finale, talking about her future on the show.
"I love this show, I love it. We'll have to see how everything falls, but it's not because I don't want to be here,” said J.Lo.
Judge Steven Tyler also confirmed to "Extra's" Terri Seymour that FOX is playing the waiting game. "Whether they ask us back or not," he said he definitely wants to return.
J.Lo admittedly has a very busy upcoming schedule with her show “Q’Viva!” with ex Marc Anthony, a fall concert tour, and says she wants to focus on her 4-year-old twins, Max and Emme.
She told Seacrest, "I got two little coconuts. It's a lot of weighing and balancing and deciding. You know what? I’m very blessed with high-class problems.”
Meanwhile, Seymour also spoke with winner Phillips and runner-up Jessica Sanchez. Phillips said he would be having surgery to fix his kidney problems before he goes on the “Idol” tour this summer. “It will fix me all up and make me better so I'm looking forward to it.”
Sanchez marveled how her friend persevered throughout the competition. “He really fought through this whole competition, not only mentally but physically.”
