Janet Jackson to Anderson Cooper re Whitney: 'I Could Not Believe It'
Janet Jackson will appear on "Anderson" this Monday, Feb. 20th, and said told Anderson Cooper during the taping today that she just could not believe Whitney Houston had died. "Immediately, I started shaking. I was trying to text everyone that I knew to let them know and I was speechless. I could not believe it."
Jackson, who said she was home when she heard the tragic news, recalled, "I just so happened to be watching TV and I saw this newsflash... and I still can't believe it when I hear them playing tributes to her on the radio. It's still such a shock to me. I don't want to believe it."
Houston died on Saturday at the Beverly Hilton. It appears that the singer most likely died from mixing alcohol with prescription drugs, although official autopsy and toxicology results are pending.
