LeAnn Rimes' Intimate Sit-Down with Maya Angelou
Singer/actress LeAnn Rimes recently returned from North Carolina after being interviewed by Pulitzer Prize-nominated author and poet Maya Angelou, according to X17Online.
Angelou, 83, is currently working on a new Hallmark Channel show, "The Celebration Table," which focuses on celebrities who have inspired the "I Know Why the Cage Bird Sings" author throughout the years.
A fan of LeAnn since the country star first hit the music scene as a teen, Angelou thought Rimes was an older black woman the first time she heard "Blue." It wasn't until she saw a photo of the then 13-year-old that Maya realized LeAnn was "a little white girl."
Rimes said, "We talked about forgiveness, marriage, children, poetry, music, food... and drank great wine together. Her spirit is infectious. Meeting her changed my life. She's a walking angel and the wisest person I've ever met. She invited Eddie, the kids and me back to her home soon, for a few days, because she wants to cook for us."
