Katie Couric on New Talk Show: 'I Like to Interact with People'
"Extra" caught up with newly anointed talk show host Katie Couric backstage at the "Tonight" show, where we asked about her just-announced ABC daytime show deal.
"I like to interact with people," admitted Couric, joking with "Extra's" Jerry Penacoli. "I sort of have a big personality."
Was there ever a chance to reunite with her former "Today" show host Matt Lauer? "That's something we talked about one day, working together. Maybe one day in the future we'll reunite."
The newswoman also weighed in on the latest headlines, starting with Rep. Anthony Weiner and his Twitter flings. "I think he should've definitely just been honest," said Couric. "I think -- as they say -- the cover-up is always worse than the crime."
And Arnold Schwarzenegger? Couric replied, "I think he'd be fascinating to talk to... to really understand why he made the decisions he made."
Couric might get the chance when her show debuts in the fall of 2012.
