Doctors Try to Save Zsa Zsa Gabor's Leg
Zsa Zsa Gabor was rushed to UCLA Medical Center on Sunday after a lesion on her leg began showing signs of gangrene, but doctors have delayed plans to amputate her leg.
"Over the next two days, the doctors are treating her with powerful antibiotics in the hope that they will affect the lesion on her lower leg," Gabor's rep John Blanchette told People.
Blanchette added that the lesion "is now very deep, and 12 inches long" and if antibiotics don't turn things around, doctors "will have to amputate. She will lose the lower half of her leg below the knee."
The 93-year-old star has been in serious condition for months after she underwent hip replacement surgery following a July fall at her Bel-Air home.
