Oksana was born in Saransk, Russia, and was raised in Ukraine. Her parents were music professors.
At the age of 15, she moved to Moscow to attend university in order to learn piano, which she said she'd sometimes play 10 hours a day.
At 25, Oskana moved to London to study music at the Royal College of Music. She modeled to make ends meet and starred in low-budget films, including "A to Zen."
While in London, Oksana met actor Timothy Dalton, who played James Bond in two films, and the two married in 1997. They have a son together, Alexander.
After splitting with Dalton in 2007, Oksana moved to the U.S. to teach music. She met Mel Gibson in Boston where he was filming "Edge of Darkness."
Oksana gained attention as a songwriter in 2006, after the song that she wrote, "Un Dia Llegara," became popular on the Josh Groban album, "Awake."
