Washington: Travolta Still 'Struggling'
Denzel Washington spoke about his grieving "The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3" co-star John Travolta at press conference for the new flick. Washington told reporters on Friday, Travolta continues to cope with the death of his son, Jett. Denzel said, "Needless to say, he's struggling."
Washington said he spoke with Travolta on the phone two weeks ago and he "listened to him for about two or three hours."
Travolta's healing process is "going to take time," Washington says. "What can you say, really? Just be there as a friend, because he's such a sweet, sweet person. Our prayers are with he and his wife."
In January, Jett Travolta, 16, died unexpectedly while the family was vacationing in the Bahamas.
