Dr. Jan Adams Surrenders Medical License
"Extra" has obtained court documents stating that Dr. Jan Adams has surrendered his license to practice medicine in California. Adams is the plastic surgeon who performed multiple procedures on Kanye West's mother Donda -- who died following the surgery.
Adams' decision to give up his license comes after formal charges of wrongdoing were filed against him by the Medical Board stemming from two criminal convictions in DUI-related cases. "The mission of the Medical Board is public protection, and this action reflects the Board's ongoing commitment to that mission," says the statement from Barb Johnston, executive director of the Medical Board.
Before Dr. Adams' reputation was tarnished by the death of Donda West and his DUI charges, he was featured on various TV programs, including "The Oprah Winfrey Show" and the Discovery Channel's "Plastic Surgery: Before and After."
