Durst: Spears Fling a 'Fiasco of Madness'
In 2003, Limp Bizket frontman Fred Durst shocked his rocker fans by falling for pop princess Britney Spears -- a fling which Brit denied, which turned into a huge debacle!
Now, six years later, Durst isn't holding a grudge -- but maintains he never fabricated a relationship with Spears. "It just became a fiasco of madness," he told MTV News, "I always stay true to my heart and true to everything I did, and my intentions, and I am in no way a liar."
According to Fred, the romance began soon after Britney asked the musician to write songs for her next album. Then Durst released a statement to his fans saying that Britney "happens to be a person that I [wouldn't] have thought could make me feel this way." The "Circus" singer denied the romance rumors, and claimed she barely knew the red-capped rocker.
Durst also commented on Britney's ups and downs during the past few years. "I look back on it as very interesting how things have been sort of unraveling for her since," he said. "It is what it is. I can sleep at night knowing I made decisions that I wanted to make."
Fred laughed and added, "I just guess at the time it was taboo for a guy like me to be associated with a gal like her."
