Joaquin, Are You There?
Actor turned rapper Joaquin Phoenix stopped by "Late Show with David Letterman" to talk about his new film, "Two Lovers". The scruffy star seemed like he was on another planet and hardly cracked a smile during the interview. Letterman had to pull teeth to get the uncomfortably awkward Phoenix to answer any questions. Dave wrapped up the appearance by saying "Joaquin, I'm sorry you couldn't be here tonight."
Phoenix is the subject of a documentary directed by brother-in-law Casey Affleck. They follow him as he moves from the world of movies to a career in hip-hop music. The "Walk the Line" star told Letterman he would be happy to perform on "The Late Show" when he starts promoting his album.
An "Extra" producer was on the red carpet for the New York City premiere of "Two Lovers" last night. She says Phoenix didn't talk to the press. The documentary crew asked all media to sign a release in order to speak with Joaquin on camera. No one would sign the document. Stay tuned for more wacky behavior!
