'Long Island Medium' Theresa Caputo & Husband Larry Separate

In a statement to People magazine, "Long Island Medium" star Theresa Caputo and her husband Larry Caputo confirmed on Sunday that they have separated.

"After 28 years of marriage, we have decided to legally separate," the statement read. "We will always love each other and our two wonderful children. We are united in supporting each other and our family. Please respect our privacy during this time."

The couple are parents to Larry Jr., 27, and Victoria, 23.

Caputo had revealed her marriage was in a "rough patch" on a recent "Long Island Medium" episode, leading fans to watch the show and her social media accounts closely for clues about whether they would power through or call it quits.

In a teaser for Monday's show posted Friday, Caputo seemed to hint more about strife at home, saying, "It just seems like the older we get the less time we have for our family. Everyone is so busy." A description for the episode noted that the Caputos were "unsure about their future."

On the show, she said, "I sometimes interpret it as growing apart. I've changed and he has changed. We're both not happy and, you know, it's hard to try to work through that. It's not easy for me to sit here and to talk about this, to talk about my feelings, to talk about how my marriage is, but you know, things do change."
