Actress Kerry Washington’s maternity style was on-point on the 2016 Emmys red carpet.
Washington slayed in a long, black Brandon Maxwell gown, complete with sexy cutouts just above her baby bump and a cape.
Kerry is expecting her second child with hubby Nnamdi Asomugha. They welcomed daughter Isabelle Amarachi Asomugha in April 2014.
The star, who was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series for her role in “Confirmation,” wore her hair soft and loose.
She told "Extra's" Renee Bargh and special correspondent Adam Glassman, “When you’re a pregnant lady on the red carpet, you need to feel like a superhero.”
Jimmy Fallon crashed the interview, telling Kerry, "Ahhhhh!! You look gorgeous! So good to see you... what is happening?” Talking to her bump, he said, “Hi, baby! Hi, baby! It's Jimmy! I can't wait to meet you — it’s gonna be so fun. I'm going to see you backstage someday!”
After her run-in with Jimmy, Washington revealed to Renee and Adam her due date is near. “I'm close, I'm close. If you see me scooting across stage, it's 'cause we have another week of shooting — we've got to keep it inside.” As for how she has been shooting “Scandal” since Olivia Pope is far from pregnant, she explained, “We’re hiding behind bags and boxes and things — big coats, big Prada bags.”
The star also spoke about politics, saying, “We have to vote. We have to let our voices be heard. We have to remind the people in power that they work for us, so we have to show up and vote.”
