Earlier today, “Extra’s” AJ Calloway caught up with Michael Weatherly at the CBS upfronts, where he dished on his “NCIS” good-bye in last night’s episode.

Weatherly said, “I thought it was a really beautiful show last night, and I thought everyone did such an amazing job — that writing staff, that creative team — and it was emotional for me to say good-bye, but as a viewer and a fan of the show, I felt so connected watching it last night. It was a little tears, but we survived."

Though he is no longer on “NCIS,” he is returning to television in the new legal drama “Bull,” which has him playing a Dr. Phil-inspired character. He joked, “No, I don’t have a bald cap or a mustache. I am playing Dr. Jason Bull and what Bull does is he looks at a jury trial and he breaks down the identities of everybody involved.”

Joined by his co-stars Freddie Rodriguez, Jaime Lee Kirchner, and Annabelle Attanasio, he praised Dr. Phil, a consultant on the show, saying, “This a world that Phil McGraw understands better than anybody.”

"Bull" will air on Tuesdays this coming fall.
