The 2012 Miss Alabama winner Katherine Webb stopped by The Grove to talk with “Extra’s” Mario Lopez about the new ABC competition show “Splash.”

The model gained attention in January when, as she watched boyfriend AJ McCarron’s team go head-to-head against Notre Dame in the 2013 BCS Championship, ESPN sportscaster Brent Musburger remarked how beautiful she was, sparking a Twitterverse explosion.

Now, Katherine has landed a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit modeling contract and is getting ready to dive competitively in “Splash.”

Webb explained why she’s doing the show. “You know, everyone sees me as the girl in the swimsuit and you know there's so much more to me.” Mario said, “But you're going to be in a swimsuit!” Katherine laughed, “I know. I know. How ironic!”

Webb’s competition includes former “Baywatch” star Nicole Eggert, Playboy Playmate Kendra Wilkinson and former child stars Keshia Night Pulliam and Drake Bell.

Katherine said about Bell, “He is my biggest competition so far… his form and everything is perfect, so if I can get down to the top five or the top three, I'll be okay.”

“Splash” premieres on Tuesday on ABC!
