"Dancing with the Stars" has handed its mirrored ball trophy to Hines Ward and Kym Johnson.
The dynamic dancing duo has continually impressed the judges throughout the Season 12 competition. The Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver was often praised for his rigorous preparation and sound technique.
In this week's performances, Hines and Kym scored near-perfect 10s, especially with their Freestyle dance, complete with a marching band. Watch!
Ward and Johnson did have a few mishaps, including last week when Hines accidentally fell on Kym while rehearsing risky lifts for the semi-finals. Johnson was not seriously hurt.
The winners jumped in the air and hugged after the official announcement. Hines praised his pro partner as "an amazing teacher" and thanked the judges "for giving us constructive criticism."
"I also want to thank all the fans," he said.
Kirstie Alley and Maks Chmerkovskiy finished second. Alley said, "This the most extraordinary adventure I've ever been on in my life." Chelsea Kane and Mark Ballas came in third.
