First Look: Charlize Theron Bears Resemblance to Megyn Kelly – See the Set Pic!
On Thursday, Charlize Theron was spotted on the set of the untitled Roger Ailes project in Los Angeles.
Theron was photographed in full makeup, bearing a resemblance to embattled TV host Megyn Kelly, who she plays in the movie.
Last week, Charlize teased the movie, telling “Extra's” Renee Bargh, “I think it's an important story to tell… and it felt original, it felt, like, super timely. I love Jay Roach, who is directing it. There's something just very special. It's very unexpected the way we're telling the story; I don't think it's what people think, what they imagine it to be.”
Kelly has been facing backlash for her controversial blackface comments on “Megan Kelly Today,” which has been cancelled.
“But what is racist?” Megyn asked an all-white panel. “Because truly, you do get in trouble if you are a white person who puts on blackface at Halloween or a black person who puts on whiteface for Halloween. Back when I was a kid, that was okay as long as you were dressing up as like a character.”
Kelly eventually apologized for her comments, but it did not save her show. A spokesperson told USA Today, “'Megyn Kelly Today' is not returning. Next week, the 9 a.m. hour will be hosted by other TODAY co-anchors.”
NBC News Cancels ‘Megyn Kelly Today’
View StoryKelly is reportedly in a high-stakes battle to save her $69-million contract, and TMZ says she is demanding the network pay the $50 million left on her deal. Her attorney Bryan Freedman released a statement to The New York Times saying, "Megyn remains an employee of NBC News and discussions about next steps are continuing."
The site reports that Megyn's debacle will not affect the movie, which does not portray her as a hero.
