Harrison Ford Auctions His Han Solo Jacket to Benefit Epilepsy Research
Actor Harrison Ford is donating his Han Solo jacket, which he wore in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” to a cause dear to his heart.
Harrison is teaming up with Finding a Cure for Epilepsy and Seizures (FACES) to auction off the signed jacket at a starting bid of $15,000. Proceeds will benefit NYU Langone Medical Center and FACES, which aims to improve the quality of life of those affected by epilepsy and seizures. Harrison's daughter is suffering from epilepsy.
Harrison said in a statement, “I've been very impressed with the work NYU and the FACES team have done in the field of epilepsy research, and I hope this jacket will provide some means to further that exploration. This is a cause that's near and dear to me, and unlike the cynical Han Solo, I've got a good feeling about this.”
The jacket will be offered on IfOnly, a premium experiential marketplace. IfOnly CEO Trevor Traina shared, "We are thrilled and honored to be supporting such an incredible cause by featuring a piece of cinematic history. We've been lucky to support hundreds of causes, but this one is even more significant as it is so personal to Harrison.”
The auction is going on now and will end on April 11.
