Meet Katy Perry's 'Swish Swish' Backpack Kid

Katy Perry's "Swish Swish" performance on "SNL" had a cast of thousands — well, a couple of dozen NYC drag queens and legendary dancer José Gutierez, anyway — but it was the backpack-wearing teen at the end whose swinging arms captured the attention of the Internet.

The stone-faced young performer is Instagram sensation Russell Horning aka Russell Got Barzz, a 15-year-old from the Atlanta area with over 900 posts and nearly 500,000 followers.

Russell's rubbery dance moves are always performed with utter seriousness, but he's doing it all as a goof. His own description on Instagram reads, "I can't dance lol."

This is actually the second time Horning has made a worldwide splash; Rihanna re-posted one of his videos to express her joy at receiving eight Grammy nominations. At the time, the young man of few words told BET of the recognition, "Good."

He summed up the popularity of his videos in an interview with BET, saying, "I think people love the videos so much because they're original. Yeah, there are other dance videos, but mine are funny."
